Executive Leadership

Unite with In Motion, (“In Motion”) has a small staff of volunteers who are the cornerstone of our success. They work diligently to develop and grow our programs, recruit, train and organize a team of volunteers and keep the program running. Our staff brings commitment, caring, plus the highest degree of knowledge and professionalism available. When you read the bios of our key staff, we’re sure you’ll agree.

QING FAN, Executive Director

Prior to joining Unite for In Motion, Qing was extensively involved with Free Arts NYC in providing interactive and educational art and mentoring programs to low-income, homeless, abused and neglected children with the aim of using art as a medium to foster confidence and self-expression and to inspire collaboration and communication. She enthusiastically supports programs that bring performing and fine arts to children and the community. She has also worked in the New York City Dept. of Small Business Services and for Mayor Bloomberg’s Office of Special Projects and Community Events.

She has trained with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training® and can now proudly say that she is a tri-athlete. Recently, as part of In Motion’s community partnership with New York Road Runners, she ran the NYC marathon. An avid lover of theatre and dance, Qing can often be found frequenting Broadway shows, ushering for off-Broadway theatres and taking dance classes at the Mark Morris Dance Center.

Qing works as a Financial Analyst and graduated cum laude from the New York University’s Stern School of Business with a dual major in Finance and Marketing.


TRACEY CHU, Vice President and Treasurer

Tracey is very passionate about the performing arts. A talented violinist, she has given performances at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.  She taught violin throughout college and still continues to play recreationally. In addition, Tracey has had training in ballet and continues to take classes in various dance forms. She also trains in swinging trapeze.

Tracey is financial analyst specializing in distressed investing. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in three years and holds a double major in finance and international business.


ELIZABETH IRWIN, Secretary

Elizabeth has been involved in the performing arts from a very young age. She began playing the piano and flute in elementary school, as well as taking ballet and jazz lessons. As a teenager, she held several responsibilities within her high school drama program, ultimately serving as the stage manager for the mainstage shows.Elizabethhas designed or directed for nearly thirty productions throughout college and Off-Off Broadway and is a strong believer in the importance of arts education at all ages. When not working with In Motion, she is a volunteer with New York Cares and the Director of Development and Communications for KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now).

Elizabeth is an administrator in the Quantitative Strategies division of SAC Capital Advisors, LP. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, where she double majored in history and theatre, with a concentration on directing for the stage. While at NU she was active in Associated Student Government, the America Reads tutoring program, and the Risk Management Team for Greek life.


GOBIND SINGH, Director of Marketing and Communications

Gobind holds a degree from Boston University in Biochemistry. His experiences in the non-profit world extend beyond In Motion. Gobind founded and led a non-profit group that has raised thousands of dollars for food and sheltering the homeless in Colorado. During his time in Boston, he participated in numerous dance troupes, including the Ballroom Society. As part of his dance revelation, his interest in dancing truly shined through Bhangra, the high-energy folk dance of northern India. A leader of numerous dance teams in Boston and New York, including nationally recognized MIT Bhangra, Boston Bhangra, B.U. Bhangra, and N.Y.C Jugni, Gobind has received extensive training in this dance form.

He is currently a M.D/P.h.D student at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and teaches Bhangra at different venues including S.O.B.’s (Basement Bhangra) as well as in other community events.
